Eating Local in the Winter at the Western Fair Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market
At this time of year you'll find fresh local apples, pears, brussels sprouts and other cabbages (red, green and savoy), delicious root vegetables like parsnips, beets, carrots and rutabagas, potatoes and sweet potatoes, a large variety of winter squash (buttercup, butternut hubbard) and pumpkin, and more. You can also purchase delectable artisanal cheeses (Shep Ysselstein’s Gunn’s Hill Artisan Cheese), foraged and cultivated woodland mushrooms and funghi (cremini, portobello, shitake, oyster, enoki and maitake), maple syrup, preserves, fresh and flavourful hand-made prepared foods. We have London’s largest selection of artisanal bread. Locally grown and milled grains, ethically raised local meats and poultry, specialty teas and fairly traded coffee and chocolate are all available at the Market.
On the Move Organics provides fresh, local, independent and 100% certified organic produce throughout the year at the Western Fair Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market.Something that is also super special and is available through Jon the Move Organics is NuSun Sunflower Oil. It is locally grown and bottled just north of Stratford, in Mitchell Ontario.
Meet our vendors, farmers and the artisan food producers. Speak with them to find out exactly where your food is coming from and how it was produced. Support our local farmers, culinary artisans, and producers so that they will be able to continue to support and feed us.
